CI Audiologist
There are medical reasons that necessitate the use of invasive hearing systems, such as cochlear implants. Due to the increasing technical integration of invasive and non-invasive hearing systems, a unified, decentralized structure for aftercare and support is required in the interest of the individuals concerned. The additional qualification as a CI audiologist strengthens the role of hearing care professionals in the long-term support of CI users. Optimal care can only be ensured through close cooperation among all participating institutions.
The scope of practice for CI audiologists ensures high-quality fitting of hearing systems as well as continuous aftercare for individuals with hearing implants.
To participate in the CI audiology seminar, a Master’s qualification in hearing care acoustics or at least five years of professional experience in the field is required

Pediatric Audiologist
The auditory and speech development of children with hearing impairments depends significantly on early and appropriate hearing system fitting. This places high demands on professional expertise in hearing care and is also of great societal importance. To meet these requirements, BI Hörakustik Servicegesellschaft mbH offers a specialized training course in pediatric audiology (Pädakustik).
The seminar combines theoretical foundations with extensive practical exercises. The theoretical component covers key topics from medicine, education, and audiology. These form the basis for the professional fitting of hearing systems for children of all ages and for collaboration with other professional groups.
In the practical sessions, participants work in small groups on topics such as pediatric audiometry, hearing system fitting, and parental counseling, including conducting practical hearing tests with children. Practical work accounts for over 45% of the training and is a central element of the program.
To participate in the pediatric audiology seminar, a Master Hearing Care Professional qualification (Hörakustikmeister) or at least three years of professional experience in hearing care is required.

Although the dual apprenticeship system remains the traditional and preferred career path in the hearing care trade, there are individuals and life situations for which this route is not suitable.
To address these cases, BI Hörakustik Servicegesellschaft mbH offers a modular, practice-oriented course system. It enables flexible, step-by-step preparation for roles in specialist shops, tailored to individual interests and prerequisites.
The Hearing Care Assistant role is not a dead end: with appropriate advanced modules and professional experience, the skills acquired can be recognized through an external journeyman’s examination, potentially leading to a formal professional qualification—and even the Master Craftsman’s Diploma.

Cerumen Workshop
We offer a one-day workshop on cerumen management. The target audience consists of master hearing care professionals who wish to expand their knowledge and skills for a seamless hearing system fitting process. The focus is on the theoretical and practical application of various ear-cleaning methods. Particular emphasis is placed on the added value of offering ear cleaning as part of comprehensive, uninterrupted customer care within the practice.
In addition, the workshop covers tips and tricks for handling cerumen management in day-to-day practice.

The Lübeck CI Symposium provides a platform for professional exchange regarding cochlear implant care.
