Founding of HörHanse: Lübeck pools expertise

In HörHanse e.V ., institutions in Lübeck pool their expertise in all aspects of hearing in order to promote hearing health nationally and internationally. The founding members include the University of Lübeck, TH Lübeck, Lübeck University of Music, UKSH, DHI, hearconcept, the Federal Guild of Hearing Aid Acousticians, and Campus Hearing Acoustics. The founding meeting took place on October 8, 2025, at the Academy of Hearing Acoustics.
”When I stand on the Zugspitze ten years from now and talk to someone about hearing, I want to hear them say: Well, there’s the HörHanse in Lübeck!“ said found member, Prof. Helge Braun, President of the Lübeck University, outlining his vision with a wink.
HörHanse reflects the close cooperation between craftsmanship, research, training, and patient care that sets an example worldwide. The synergies created as a result shall be a benefit to people suffering from a hearing impairment. Helping them to hear again and hence improve their quality of live is at the top of HörHanse’s agenda.
”We want to combine the collective expertise of craftsmanship and science to promote hearing care in the face of demographic challenges – in Germany, Europe and around the world,” says Jakob Stephan Baschab, Managing Director of the Federal Guild of Hearing Aid Acousticians, summarizing the objectives of HörHanse. “International networking is crucial for us as a WHO partner.”
For him the qualification of skilled workers, is a decisive factor. The concept of dual training in hearing acoustics is regarded as exemplary internationally. For more than two decades, the Campus Hearing Acoustic has maintained close cooperations with partner organizations on almost every continent.
