City Cycling 2023: Campus Hearing Acoustics takes third place among all school teams

Bike instead of car, exercise and high spirits instead of CO2 emissions: The Campus Hearing Acoustics team has fully embraced this idea and reached the third place of all school teams. STADTRADELN (City Cycling) is an international competition of the climate alliance. Participants in the municipalities are called upon to complete as many kilometers using their bikes as possible for 21-days. Goal: Promote environmentally friendly mobility in every-day life.

From mid-June to the beginning of July, the Campus hearing Acoustics team collected 4,690 kilometers over 21 days. Overall, this corresponds to the distance between Luebeck to Newfoundland.

On September 11, the team’s effort was recognized. Team captains Dr. Frederick Hahn (afh) and Stephan Füsers (LBS) accepted the price together with their top bikers: Matthias Scharmer (afh) with 250km; Wiebke Hilgerdenaar and Nikolas Männer (LBS) with 380 and 400 kilometers. The event took place in the audience chamber of the Luebeck town hall. Due to illness, Ludger Hinsen, Senator for Environment, had to cancel, hence the team of the climate central office handed over the certificate and a token in recognition of their performance.

Campus Hearing Acoustics has joined for the third time this year and has meanwhile collected an impressive 15,000 kilometers in their city cycling account. The city of Luebeck has taken part for the 12th time. Everyone is welcome to join a team and the competition. The collected kilometers are registered at: www.stadtradeln.de/luebeck or tracked via an app on your cell phone.

Apart from climate protection through the reduction of CO2 emissions, the initiative also wants to raise awareness for the promotion of cycling infrastructure. They receive high-profile support from celebrities, such as Dr. Eckart von Hirschhausen, Peter Lohmeyer and Dota Kehr, who cycle regularly,
