Winter graduation ceremony: Congratulations on your journeyman’s certificate

143 hearing aid acousticians who passed their examinations this winter, have obtained their journeyman’s certificate. Their festive graduation ceremony took place on 31 January 2026 at the Kolosseum in Lübeck.
The completion of the apprenticeship with the journeyman’s certificate marks an important milestone on the career path. The graduates of this winter’s examination were therefore duly recognized and honoured for their achievements.
Ines Jonen, Vice President of the Federal Guild of Hearing Acousticians (biha), welcomed the young professionals, their families and guests of honour to the graduation ceremony at the Kolosseum in Lübeck and performed the traditional craft ceremony. ‘‘You have chosen a fulfilling career in a healthcare profession that combines technical innovation and empathetic counselling,’ Ines Jonen told the journeymen and journeywomen. ‘Your everyday working life will demand a great deal of duty of care and empathy from you, but it will also bring a smile to your face every time you are able to restore a person’s quality of life through better hearing.”
Prof. Dr. Ulrich Hase, former State Commissioner for People with Disabilities in Schleswig-Holstein and consultant for inclusion at the Academy of Hearing Acoustics, congratulated the hearing aid professionals on their journeymen’s certificate in his laudatory speech: “You have completed three years of dual training with the highest standards. You have taken on this challenge, choosing a high-tech profession in order to help people. You are the interface between people and technology. The nationally standardised examination, which is taken here in Lübeck, guarantees a consistently high quality of care in Germany and, last but not least, consumer protection in practice. I wish you every success for your future and many special human moments with your customers.”
Jens Rießen, Director of Studies and Head of the national vocational school for hearing aid acousticians (LBS), addressed the graduates in his speech. He congratulated them on their journeyman’s certificate, which represents their successful training period and lays the foundation for their professional future: ”In the past three years, you have not only learned how to take ear impressions. You have learned to be encouragers and companions. Today, we look at you with great pride. You are the future of a profession that creates sense.”
Everyone expressed their gratitude to the training companies, teachers at the vocational school, lecturers at the academy of hearing acoustics and examiners who contributed to the qualification of the new hearing aid professionals.
Luise Flessa, deputy chairwoman of the journeyman’s examination committee, announced the results of this winter’s journeyman’s examination and honoured the best candidates.
