EUHA Congress 2025: Academy of Hearing Acoustics informs about new master class program

The 69th International EUHA Congress with industry exhibition, held in Nuremberg from October 22 to 24, 2025, was all about key issues for the future, career and best practices in hearing care. The Campus Hearing Acoustic fair stand, the general meeting of the Hearing Acousticians Guild as well as many talks during the international industry and expert event, provided ample opportunities for exchange.

This year’s EUHA Congress once again offered an extensive program of lectures and tutorials. Clustered by congress days, the topics covered were „Hearing Research”, “Application”, and “Research and the Future”. The topics of CI care, dementia and pediatric audiology were also included. Career topics were a particular focus on Friday, which took place under the motto “Sound of Future” in 2025.

The Academy of Hearing Acoustics provided information about training and continued education at its fair booth and on the EUHA Live Area stage in the central meeting and networking area of the trade exhibition. Lecturer Lukas Rüting presented the Academy’s attractive new master class program and other training opportunities, and took questions from the audience.

Prof. Dr. Ulrich Hase, Inclusion Advisor at the Academy, presented a representative study on the topic of inclusion at Campus Hearing Acoustics, which is an integral part of the professional activities on campus as well as its training programs. The outstanding commitment of Campus Hearing Acoustics had already been recognized in 2024 with the special school award „Inclusion and Diversity” from Daniel Günther, Minister President of Schleswig Holstein.

biha President Eberhard Schmidt at the general meeting

Traditionally, the general meeting of the Federal Guild of Hearing Aid Acousticians (biha) was held on the Thursday of the congress. biha President Eberhard Schmidt welcomed the numerous participants who attended the event in person or followed it via live broadcast. This year, Andreas Brandhorst, Head of the Department for Medical Devices and Aids at the Federal Ministry of Health, was invited as a guest speaker. He outlined current and future challenges and, in this context, he addressed two far-reaching developments: on the one hand, health insurance companies are under enormous financial pressure and, on the other hand, the demand for hearing aids and the services of hearing care professionals will increase significantly due to demographic change. “Hence it is likely that the provision of medical aids will become a main focus of reform considerations,” said Brandhorst.

Eberhard Schmidt, President of the Federal Guild of Hearing Acousticians (biha), considers changes in the care structure and increases in health insurances contributions to be inevitable, stating: „We cannot carry on as before. “ Meanwhile, he remains unconcerned about the expected rise in patient numbers in the coming years, noting: „The number of specialist stores continues to grow,”

The demand for qualified hearing care professionals will remain high in the years ahead. To take full advantage of the excellent career opportunities in this field, the Academy of Hearing Acoustics provides top-tier training and continued education.
