The hearing acoustician craft congratulates 511 journeymen and journeywomen, who successfully completed their vocational training this summer. The official graduation ceremony took place at the Lübeck Music and Congress Hall (MUK) on July 26, 2025. In addition to applause from family and friends, guests of honor from politics and the industry delivered their congratulatory messages.
Eberhard Schmidt, President of the Federal Guild of Hearing Acousticians (biha), opened the celebrations and performed the traditional craftsmanship ceremony. He told the young professionals: “With your successful graduation, you have laid the foundation for your professional career as in the hearing acoustics trade.“
Schleswig-Holstein‘s Minister President Daniel Günther congratulated the newly qualified hearing acousticians on their career choice with a video message: ”You have chosen a wonderful profession. You help people with hearing impairments to avoid isolation and, through your work, enable them to fully participate in society. This is a special task, which requires a high degree of sensitivity, in your everyday work life.”
Sophia Schiebe, Member of the State Parliament and Deputy Chair of the SPD Schleswig-Holstein, gave the laudatory speech. She stressed: “By making hearing possible, you make living together possible. You help to reconnect people.“
President of the Rheinhessen Chamber of Crafts, Hans-Jörg Friese, traveled from Mainz to congratulate the health care professionals from all over Germany on receiving their journeyman’s certificates. In his address, he said: “At a time when technical developments are progressing so rapidly thanks to digitalization and the use of artificial intelligence, you as hearing care professionals are an invaluable part of healthcare in our aging society.“
Jens Rießen, Director of Studies and Head of the Federal Vocational School for Hearing Acousticians (LBS), was honored and deeply moved to address the audience with the following words: “Your job comes with a great responsibility – in hearing acoustics, mere technical skills will not suffice, you do not work with machines, you work with people. You do not just fit hearing-aids, you accompany life stories. After all, a well-fitted hearing system can make the difference between social isolation and new joy of life. What you do matters. It is not insignificant, it is important.“
Moritz Hein, spokesperson for the graduating class, expressed his gratitude on behalf of the journeymen and journeywomen for the congratulations. Looking back on their training period, he said: “Acquaintances became friends, and I believe and hope they will be friends for life. We studied together and supported each other, and we should keep this spirit of solidarity for our future work in the acoustics sector.“
Christian Willam, Chairman of the journeyman exam committee, gave an overview on the overall exam results and called the three top performers onto the stage for a special award ceremony.
Everyone expressed their gratitude to the training companies, teachers at the vocational school, lecturers at the Academy of Hearing Acoustics, and members of the exam committee, who all contributed to the qualification of the newly certified hearing acousticians.
The band „Veryable“ added to the great atmosphere during the event and brought the celebration to a wonderful close.
