City Cycling Luebeck: Team Campus Hearing Acoustics among Top 20

Riding a bike keeps you fit and saves CO2 – the Campus Hearing Acoustics joined the City Cycling initiative from August 28 to September 17 with its own team. A total of 51 teachers, co-workers, lecturers and students were part of the team and cycled 7.818 kilometers during this period. Compared to travelling by car, this means that we jointly saved 1.149 kg CO2: an important contribution to protecting the climate and achieving a better quality of life in Luebeck. City Cycling (STADTRADELN) is an international competition organized by the climate alliance (Klima Bündnis), during which participating communities collect bicycle kilometers over a period of 21 days. The Hanse town Luebeck was one of more than 2,000 municipalities to take part in the 2021 City Cycling campaign. 3,273 Luebeck cyclists have collected a total of 593,614 kilometers for their Hanse town and hence saved 87,261 kg CO2 – taking the 3rd place of all Schleswig Holstein communities which took part. The world’s biggest bicycle campaign aims at motivating people to use their bikes for everyday routes instead of taking the car – thus reducing emissions and traffic noise in towns and country.

The Climate Alliance will announce the winners during an award ceremony. There are five different size classes and various categories for the best placed bicycle active teams in the local parliament and for the community, which collected the most kilometers.
