The L\u00fcbeck CI Symposium at the Campus Hearing Acoustic offers a forum for professional exchange on cochlear implant care. It is aimed at experienced partners in CI care as well as those interested in hearing aid acoustics, audiology, medicine, therapy and counselling. Perspectives from Counselling to Aftercare<\/strong>
The lecture programme<\/a> combines scientific findings with experience from care practice, presented by experts . Prof. Dr. Angelika Illg presents the “Hearing Loss \u2013 Quality of Life” questionnaire (HL-QOL) for measuring quality of life in people with hearing loss. Dr. Melanie Kr\u00fcger addresses, under the title “Listening Effort \u2013 More Than Just Understanding,” why the strain of listening matters for patient-centred care. Dr. Yvonne Seebens shows how the Marte Meo concept can strengthen parents and support children’s hearing and language development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Further focus areas include care for unilateral hearing loss (Adelgunde Weichenrieder and Dr.-Ing. Thomas Wesarg), the possibilities and limits of predicting CI outcomes (Prof. Dr.-Ing. med. Ulrich Hoppe), and the effects of music training on speech intelligibility (Dr. Daniela Hollfelder). Jana Verheyen speaks about new approaches in CI aftercare.
